At Olching, Nicolai Klindt was by far the best scorer without being spectacular. Jamrog was solid with 10 points, but didn't really stand out either. I found the 10 points from Valentin Grobauer, who won three races, really strong today. That was a top performance from Vale. Dani Gappmaier was also doing well, but was unfortunately only used four times.
Unfortunately, there weren't very many spectators in the stadium today. It will probably not have been much more than an estimated 500. That's disappointing because the race was well attended. Especially if you also watched the Bayern Cup race in the morning, the price/performance ratio was right. I also really enjoyed the Bayern Cup race and it was very close in terms of points between all four teams.
In the 500ccm class at the Bayern Cup, Mario Häusl was the best rider today with a maximum of 15 points. He's getting more and more stable on the bike now, a while ago he still had a lot of falls. It's gotten a lot better now. AC Landshut has secured a great talent for the future.
Patrick Hyjek was similarly strong as Häusl, and Lukas Wegener and Patricia Erhart also looked very good in the 500cc races today. In the 250s, Kacper Cymerman was unbeatable today.
There were also a few spectacular falls in the Bayern Cup. First, Toni Eichhorn got hit in heat 4, then Tobias Althaus crashed into the barrier in heat 5, and in heat 14 Sebastian Adorjan rolled over at the start.
The Bayern Cup race alone was worth the visit today and actually deserved a lot more spectators. I liked it, and during the lunch break I treated myself to the legendary roast pork in the Olchinger clubhouse with the Maxlrainer. Perfect!
Also, I happened to meet a spectator from England today in the stadium, a "track hopper" ("ground hopper" one would say in football), for whom Olching was his 138th different speedway track that he had visited! Wow! On the drive home I thought about how many tracks I've been on in my life, but I can't think of 50.
It was nice to meet you Arnie G.
